治病救人

. . . .

in the midst of my studies, i was very captivated by a medical drama.
i was initially resisted to watching it coz it was a "ah tiong" production.. but
ended up inspired and provoked by its storyline.

most seek to become doctors for the money. for the prestige.
and then u judge doctors by the specialties they come from.
it was set in the ER where, i presume, doctors in the ER r not v highly regarded.
yet, there was dis doctor who was more than just a mere doctor resuscitating lives
on the brink of death. he may be an actor who was really good in acting out
that role, but it inspired me to become a doctor like him in the future.

a doctor that does not just treat patients, cure them of their sicknesses..
but a doctor who can save lives literally.
most of the time, doctors pull d patient back from death and consider d job
done.. however, that doesnt stop him from trying to commit suicide again,
that doesnt get her out of her depression.
yes, we arent counselors, we cant solve all their problems but at least we
can lend a listening ear or even stop and spend an extra 5mins hearing
them out. we treat the sickness, disease, cancer, whatever, but we can
literally save lives too.

治病救人

and of coz, there were other stuff in the drama that provoked my thoughts..
well.... let's leave that out.

. . . .
